Hand-cut from high-grade Brazilian rough, this cabochon showcases a rich, saturated spectrum of deep lilac, rose-violet, and soft magenta. As light catches the surface, the dense arrangement of lithium-rich mica scales produces a subtle, shimmering schiller effect across the dome.

Sourced from the renowned pegmatite fields of Minas Gerais, Brazil, lepidolite is a complex lithium-bearing mica silicate. Its signature violet tones are created by high concentrations of lithium integrated into the crystal structure during slow pegmatitic cooling.

Lapidary Craftsmanship

Because lepidolite is a softer mineral (Mohs 2.5–4) with perfect basal cleavage, cutting requires specialized low-pressure grinding and diamond-compound polishing techniques. This piece was carefully oriented to prevent micro-flaking along the mica planes while achieving a durable, lustrous surface.
