Lapis Lazuli with Afghanite & Pyrite Specimen - Afghanistan from the Badakhshan province - UV Reactive
The Specimen Everything I’d do differently if I started collecting again involves paying attention to the minerals that hide their best features until the lights go out. This 148g specimen from the Sar-e-Sang district of Afghanistan is a geological masterpiece, composed of deep royal blue Lazurite, rare fluorescent Afghanite, and brilliant speckles of golden Pyrite.
This specific piece is defined by its "amazing UV" reactivity. Under a 365nm long-wave UV light, the Afghanite crystals ignite with an intense, glowing orange luminescence that contrasts beautifully against the dark Lazurite and the metallic shimmer of the Pyrite. The "banding" of the minerals is exceptional, creating a natural landscape effect where the Lazurite forms a dark "sky" over the glowing Afghanite structures.

The Alchemist's Perspective
At Sacred Alchemy Studios, we view the combination of Lazurite and Afghanite as a powerful conduit for "Higher Sight." Lazurite provides the deep, ancient wisdom of the earth, while Afghanite acts as a high-frequency antenna for spiritual downloads. The addition of Pyrite speckles is crucial; it acts as the grounding wire, ensuring that the insights you receive are practical and protected. A specimen with high UV reactivity is a reminder that we all have hidden dimensions that only reveal themselves when we are exposed to the right environment.
Studio Note This is a premium collector-grade specimen. While Lapis is common, the distinct, large Afghanite crystal structures and the high-saturation orange fluorescence make this a "Museum Quality" piece for those who specialize in reactive minerals.
Care Tips Afghanite and Lazurite are sensitive to acids and harsh chemicals. To maintain the vibrant blue and the reactive properties, clean only with a soft, dry brush or a slightly damp lint-free cloth. To enjoy the full "starry night" effect, display this piece with a dedicated 365nm UV lamp.
