This is a double-terminated smoky quartz crystal coated with hyalite opal from the Zacatecas and San Luis Potosi region of Mexico. It is a true UV collector specimen with multiple hard-to-find traits in one piece: smoky quartz, a natural double termination, a full hyalite coating across the faces, strong green fluorescence under shortwave and longwave UV, and clear phosphorescence after the UV light is removed. Under UV, the hyalite coating lights up with a uniform green response. Once the light is turned off, the specimen holds its glow for a short time, giving you a visible afterglow in a dark room.
