Hand-cut from premium Peruvian rough, this cabochon displays warm, harmonious layers of soft red, honey amber, and delicate cream. When held to the light, its translucent crystalline matrix emits a soft, velvety glow that accentuates the subtle natural banding flowing across the dome.

Sourced from the high-altitude mineral deposits of Peru, aragonite (CaCO3) is an orthorhombic calcium carbonate mineral. Formed through low-temperature hydrothermal deposition, its characteristic warm tones are produced by trace mineral inclusions suspended within its fibrous crystalline structure.

Lapidary Craftsmanship

Aragonite is a moderately soft mineral (Mohs 3.5–4) with directional cleavage. Shaping this piece required precise pressure control during grinding and specialized polishing compounds to achieve a smooth, mirror-like dome without heat-fracturing or dulling the delicate silky luster.
